German term

Silbern eloxiert

German to English Tech/Engineering Automotive / Cars & Trucks Automotive
Car parts manufacturers catalogue/website.

Silbern eloxiert, eloxieren, as opposed to chrome.

Example from the website: Handbrake sleeve Form A, Rillen (Silbern eloxiert)

I know that the word comes from Eloxal, ELektrisch OXidiertes ALuminium. But how do I say it in english?

Tnx in advance

natural anodized or anodized

The reason is that aluminium is originally silver in colour. Normally, before the anodizing an etching is done to get the material prepared and to give the material a certain matt appearance. The German specific term for that is E6 EV1, E6 refers to the surface preparation etching, EV1 clear anodizing.
