German term or phrase: Leichtbaulochung
Hi all,

I have a tricky one for you here.

"Hilfreich für die Montage mit mehreren Einzelteilen, wie es z.B. bei der Überbrückung der Leichtbaulochung stattfindet, kann hier der Einsatz von Schraubzwingen sinnvoll sein".

Everything else here is fine, but I'm struggling to find the right way to translate "Leichbaulochung".

It seems to refer to a hole/perforation made in a caravan trailer chassis to make it lightweight, but does anyone have a catch-all term here?

My first attempt would be "lightweight perforated chassis", any other ideas?

Thanks everyone!

perforation for lightweight construction

Explanation:
Leichtbau is translated by Ernst as "lightweight construction"
Lochung is in turn most usually translated as "perforation"
lightweight constructions are usually made of lightweight panels, so you might also consider "perforation for lightweight panels" as a possibility.
