I can't think of a suitable, flowing translation for *Majorisierung* other than *gaining majority control* and that doesn't quite fit the bill, I think.

Any help much appreciated. TIA!

Excellent suggestions! Thank you very much. I went with *domination* because the political overtones of *majoritization* might be considered problematic.

-> Thank you, Darin. I've also been considering the word "domination" for this context. What do you think? :-)

agree  Ulrike Kraemer: I thought of posting "domination" as a possible translation, but then I saw you had already thought of doing the same... ;-) By the way, Google has some 20 hits for *majoritization*, but none for *majoritisation*.

takeover

Explanation:
A takeover of the supervisory board—meant to represent shareholders at large—by such small group of minority shareholders cannot, in the view of the supervisory board, be in the interest.....

But how does a twelve percent minority get the votes in the first place to get their slate elected???
