German term
Drogerie
German to English
Bus/Financial
Business/Commerce (general)
The overall context is an article on the medium and long-term development prospects of a shopping centre in Austria.
The specific context ... 'Drogerie' appears in a table as one of approx. 12 industry sectors.
Other industry sectors included are 'Lebensmittel', 'Textilwaren', 'Sportwaren', 'Elektrowaren', 'Möbel' etc.
I know 'Drogerie' to be a 'chemist's' or a 'drugstore'.
In the context of the table, is it 'pharmaceutical' ie 'the pharmaceutical industry'?

drugstore
I know it sounds American, but it's one word that conveys everything. Drogerie i not chemist's as there is no prescription processing. But it is virtually everything else - healthfoods, wellness, photographic stuff, soap + washing powder, perfume, rat poison, office materials ....I found the English web page of a large German chain - Schlecker

: In Austria definitely not a chemist, there is a clear separation from a pharmacy.

: Definitely closest for US too, though there is normally prescription processing in drugstores (unlike Germany)

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer.
Comment: "Well you learn something new from every KudoZ! Some Irish may disagree, but having done a quick survey of my family and football team, we don't distinguish between pharmacy and chemist's here.
Drugstore only exists in Ireland when it's on American TV and I would agree with Claire and wdk that it's not particular to British English. As the client was not fussed over UK EN or US EN, I went ahead with drugstore as "it's one word that conveys everything" (thanks Malcolm) and "It's a small world" (thanks Kim).
And thanks also to everyone else who contributed - much appreciated.

Health food industry
Drogerie can alsp be a health food shop, or a chemist's as suggested. But as a branch of an industry, this is my suggestion.

Nothing to back me up. It was a suggestion. As it had to be a sector in the industry, I suggested this. Drugstore and chemists do not sound like an industry.

: A "Drogerie" may also carry health food, but "Drogerie" and health food industry are simply not the same.

Discussion
... chemists/pharmacies (Apotheke), denoted by a large red A. These should not be confused with drugstores (Drogerie) where you can buy toiltries. ...
