German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Construction / Civil Engineering / Wooden panels
German term or phrase: Brettschichtholz / Brettstapelholz
I am fairly sure that Brettschichtholz is glulam wood (i.e. the individual panels are glued together) whereas the panels are nailed together to produce Brettstapelholz but I cannot find the official term in English .....

English translation:glue-laminated timber
Explanation:
According to my wood science dico, Brettschichtholz is glue-laminated timber (wood) or engineered wood. Brettstapelbauweise is glulam construction or laminated beam construction. I'm a US woodworker and wouldn't refer to the layers as "panels" but as laminations. The term glulam is used to refer to beams, not plywood.

Laminations
Individual pieces of lumber that are glued together end to end for use in the manufacture of glued laminated timber. These end-jointed laminations are then face bonded together to create the desired member shape and size.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you for this, but is there maybe a term for Brettstapelholz that makes the distinction between gluing (Brettschichtholz) and nailing (Brettstapelholz) that my client is trying to emphasise. Can I use glue-laminated and maybe nail-laminated?
