German term or phrase: verlorene Schalung
This term is in my slatted floor translation:
...verlorene Schalung mit tragenden Eigenschaften...
I especially do not understand what is meant by verloren in this context.
There must be a special term for it in English

permanent formwork [shuttering]
Explanation:
as per Langenscheidt e-dictionary of Architecture DE<>EN:

verlorene Schalung f <bau> permanent formwork
Betonschalung: verlorene Betonschalung f permanent concrete shuttering

"verloren" means that the formwork/shuttering stays in the structure/building/floor permanently after concreting, i.e. it is not removed/recovered after construction activity. "tragende Eigenschaften" simply means that the formwork/shuttering acts as (additional) support, or, in other words, is used as a load-bearing element.
