German term

(Aus)Bildung

German to English Social Sciences Education / Pedagogy
"Mit Studierenden und Absolventen, die in ihrer *(Aus)Bildung* Problemlösungsstrategien, und Gründergeist vermittelt bekommen haben, gelingt es Technologietransfers aus der Universität in die Wirtschaft zu befördern, Ausgründungen zu stimulieren und diesen ein ent-sprechendes Innovationsklima zu bieten."

Any pithy suggestions are appreciated.
TIA for your input

Discussion

Jonathan MacKerron (asker) Aug 14, 2010:
it's obvious that the author is being very cutesy here. My first impression was to disregard it completely and go with "education/training/instruction" or whatever, but thought perhaps some of you might come up with some interesting suggestions, which I could then surreptitiously pawn off as my own brilliant idea...

Note from asker:
Here a good example where less is definitely more. I went with "education". Thanks to you all!

school(ing)

Naja, finde ich selbst nicht zu gelungen.
Eher ein Konversationsstarter ...:)
Peer comment(s):

agree Kim Metzger : The (ing) doesn't work for me at all, but schooling is a good way to express Ausbildung + Bildung.

neutral Lancashireman : Sorry, this would be inappropriate for UK readership. That shouldn't bother JM too much, though.

agree franglish : schooling - with Kim on brackets - covers the ground.
