Spulenkörper

English translation: coil form?

Electronics / Elect Eng / Spulen

As the core (coil shell) of the uniform-field coil is made of a moulded [plastic] part, the coil can be adapted to whatever shape the primary conductor may have.

English translation:coil form?
Explanation:
I always knew this as a coil form, a plastic, phenolic or even wood part that was used for wrapping the coil around and then held the coil's shape.

However, they also provided a core in that they were hollow (air core) or could be filled with iron or other material to provide different characteristics.

As to your question, the core itself may NOT be the coil form.

My thought.

-> In the USA, the piece is a form, a former might be a machine used to wind them on the form.
