Unfortunately my context isn't very revealing The best is has to offer are very basic schematic diagrams, where the S2 is a box roughly twice the height of the S1, but little more than a circuit diagram really.

single-LINE display If your equipment is as shown in Bernd's TallyMan link, then this might be more appropriate as it only shows one line of information, like the scrolling marquee in Times Square. However, you will have to look at your context.

single display no screen involved - just an alpha-numeric character display. Wie in http://www.automation.siemens.com/_de/portal/news/success_st... beschrieben, geht es hier, wie schon erwähnt, um Unter-Monitor-Displays, den sogenannten UMDs. Die UMDs können als single/dual/triple/quad under monitor displays with single(green)/double/triple colour ausgeführt sein. Yes, indeed It is also referred to as a "Farb-Unter-Monitor-Anzeigeeinheit", although it is actually only a junction box/router.

I would put the "-screen" in there for sure.
