I understand what you are saying but looking at the associated drawing I am more inclined to think that it means that the chamber is delimited in the axial direction up to the connection of the outer chamber to the burner trough (i.e. ends at, as per Gabriella's suggestion), the reason being that the drawing shows a shielding element delimiting the said chamber, but with an opening at one end between the shielding element and the adjacent vertical wall, forming the said connection. Therefore, the chamber is axially delimited by the shielding element apart from this small opening at the end. However, I am still pondering over not just this but also over other aspects of these claims which are some of the most vague I have ever come across.

Hallo Patrick, hier kann gemeint sein, dass der Raum sich in Richtung des Übergangs verjüngt (zu einer Art nozzle, etc.). Also axially narrowing/tapering.

It would eppear that these three examples require handling in a different way. All four pages of the claims in question abound with unusual structures and convoluted descriptions. I will ponder further over this subject.

Here, the sense seems to be more extending or protruding. Extending would fit all three of the examples. The 3rd example could be "The blower device comprises a transport element with a blower wheel and with circumferentially extending vortex bodies provided in extension of the blower wheel blades."
