"Die [Bank] ist grundsätzlich Schuldnerin des Fremdwährungskontos."
This is in a letter from a Swiss bank to a company opening a foreign currency account...
I'm not quite sure what they're getting at here. Do they just mean they underwrite any liabilities incurred by the account? The next sentence says that as it involves balances in foreign currencies, all exchange risks are borne by the client.
