When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

: yes, emphasis is on the square loaf as opposed to a baker's loaf.

: I think they're referring to the large size of the slice, not its thickness (so I'd go for "large" here).

It's the square slices (is the loaf square? square or oblong depends on size I guess) but sometimes with English bread you can get thick or extra thick slices too.

: I'm by no means sure about the best English term (large slices works fine for me) but a German Sandwich-Toast is just larger than "plain" French toast, i.e. there's an extra inch at each side. It's not thicker, as far as I can tell (without using a ruler)

that's why I put thick in ( ) and then said thickish. here we can buy English sandwich loaves in the supermarket and they are not terribly thin. I'll have to take a ruler with me some time.

: Not convinced by the term ‘sandwich loaf’. It makes as much sense as ‘toasting toast’. To make sandwiches you need ‘sliced bread’. However I will pop down to the local Spar and see if they have any ‘sandwich loaves’ on their shelves …
