German term or phrase: erhalten
"Das Dayton-Abkommen enthielt diese gefährliche Botschaft an die Kosovo-Albaner."
Can "erhalten" here mean "deliver", "give" I wonder?
Thanks!

English translation:to include/ to contain
Explanation:
It must read "enthalten", not "erhalten" ;-)

This was the dangerous message contained in the Dayton Agreement...
This was the dangerous message delivered by the Dayton Agreement...
This was the dangerous message of the Dayton Agreement...

(I would go with the third option)

I would put the Kosovo Albanians either at the very beginning or at the very end:

For the Kosovo Albanians, this was the dangerous message of the Dayton Agreement.

This was the dangerous message of the Dayton Agreement for the Kosovo Albanians.
