German term or phrase: auf Stand schreiben
This is a term which I need for biz correspondence/proposals.

In an existing layout I am given limited space for my copy, which means that I have to tweak my (German = bulky)translation to make sure that I don't exceed a certain number of words/don't distort the design.

How on earth do you call this in English?

Since this is of personal interest, I am posting it as Non-Pro.

Thank you so much for any suggestion.
