German term

im Rahmen des hierzu Erforderlichen

German to English Bus/Financial Law: Contract(s)
As written in a loan contract:

Die Darlehensnehmerin wird die Darlehensgeberin unterstützen und mit ihr kooperieren, um die Durchführung einer Abtretung, Übernahme, Syndizierung, Verbriefung oder synthetischen Verbriefung zu ermöglichen, ***was im Rahmen des hierzu erforderlichen*** den Abschluß weiterer oder die Ergänzung bestehender Vereinbarungen einschließt.

This is what I have translated it as so far, but I would welcome any suggetsions for improvements or corrections as I am not particularly confident at the moment that I have it completely right:

The borrower shall assist and cooperate with the lender to facilitate such relinquishment, transfer, syndication, securitisation or synthetic securitisation by any means necessary in order to allow for the negotiation of further or completion of existing agreements.

('such relinquishment etc.' refers to conditions mentioned in the previous section)

to the extent necessary for these purposes

...including, to the extent necessary for these purposes, the conclusion of additional...

or perhaps 'as far as is necessary for...'

bit of a mouthful, but it's a legalistic context and I think the 'as far as' element is important

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "All the answers were great, but as I went with Kieran's in the end in my translation, the points go to him. Many thanks to Axel and Kevin for your suggestions too, and also to Klaus for the additional info which proved very handy! Regards Killian"

German term (edited): was im Rahmen des hierzu erforderlichen

as required in this context

The "was" simply initiates the relative clause ending in "einschließt".

I would end the sentence something like this: "..., including the ..... as required in this context."
Peer comment(s):

agree gangels (X) : cession = die Abtretung von etwas / relinquishment = das Aufgeben von etwas

German term (edited): was im Rahmen des hierzu erforderlichen

, such obligations to include....

Borrower's obligations are to help and cooperate, and they include entering into additional, or amending existing, agreements. On the other hand, a literal word-by-word transation of the phrase, I feel, would sound awkward: "which within the scope of what is required for this purpose" includes..."
