German term or phrase: Verhandlung vorgelesen
At the end of a contract (articles of association): Die Verhandlung wurde den Erschienenen vorgelesen, von ihnen genehmigt und eigenhaendig, wie folgt, unterschrieben:
what's the English equivalent for "Verhandlung wurde vorgelesen"?

read aloud
Explanation:
'vorlesen' (German) similar to 'voorlezen' (Dutch) implies a text is read aloud to someone, here probably a contractee =someone who appears before ... (court, notary ...)
Verhandlung = (result) of negotiation, here possibly what is called a 'compromis' in French

Maybe I didn't make it clear, it wasn't the "vorlesen" I was after, but the "Verhandlung". A Verhandlung is a negotiation, but you can't read a negotiation to somebody. However I followed the lead for the French "compromis" and decided that "agreement" will be acceptable as the "outcome of the negotiation".

to read out, to read aloud

Explanation:
The term 'Vorlesungspflicht' is translated as: notary's obligation to read a document aloud to the parties.

So I think that read out or read aloud will suffice in your case.
