Tax office clerk

Explanation:
Hamblock/Wessels suggests "tax office staff" for "Finanzbeamte/r"; Collins suggests i.a. "clerk" for "Beamte/r" (sounds more elegant in this context than "official" or "civil servant". HTH Heather

Explanation:
Something is wrong here! - Steuerfinanzbeamte/in is not in Romain, Zahn, Eichborn nor Hamblock/Wessels. - There must be something special about this title. - A Finanzamt is already a tax office so the title Steuerfinanzbeamtin sounds almost redundant. - It sounds like "Tax Officer working at the Tax Office". - Where else should your lady work, the sewage treatment plant? - I also got zero hits for all four forms (…amt, …amte, …amtin and …amter) under all languages at AltaVista and Northern Light. - At any rate, the title cannot be anything with clerk. - That is just not high enough. - If nobody can find out why the double title, you will just have to use Michael Dollman's Tax Officer and pray. - HTH - Dan
