there is a rebuttable presumption of self-employment Explanation: A "widerlegbare Vermutung" is the German equivalent of the standard English legal term "rebuttable presumption". As a side note, I remember when the law changed back in 2003, as it made life much easier for translators in Germany, even though the number of translators using the "Ich-AG" construct was very low. But it did put an end to ridiculous audits of translation companies in an attempt to prove that their freelancers were actually employees. |
