German to English Art/Literary Linguistics
Im Streit um US-Beweise für die beiden Hamburger Terror-Verfahren muss die deutsche Seite eine Niederlage einstecken. Zwar haben die USA sechs Seiten mit Vernehmungszusammenfassungen geschickt - die Papiere dürften aber kaum Bewegung in die verfahrenen Prozesse bringen.

Nothing strange here: The six pages (summaries, not witness statements) apparently do not provide the hard evidence the German prosecutors and/or the defenese attorneys were looking for to support one side or the other.

It does sound strange, because in the first sentence it says that the German party had to suffer a defeat, and then, as if conclusive, follows that the sending of six pages of papers will not move the cases along. If you would give more context?

No, why? It's unlikely that the documents will move the cases along; they're hopelessly stuck in the mud.
