English translation:floating bearing journal or trunnion
Explanation:
you were right with floating bearing for Loslager, and when checking Lagerzapfen, I come up with journal or trunnion
(see Fachwörterbuch Industrielle Elektrotechnik - Siemens).

Beate,

Thank you for your answer. Actually, thank you for all your answers and helping me out in the heat of the moment! You sound like a good technical translator, and certainly know what it means to provide good service, which is something this other dude I used for the edit was really lacking in. I'm a translator based in Herrenberg, Germany and do quite technical translations. The one I just finished was an extreme, both in terms of length and complexity. Anyway, I always use an editor to proof my work and would be interested in seeing your resume. Could you email it to me at wordsmith2thsnd@aol.com? I would appreciate it!

Sincerely,
Jeff
