German term

schrauben

German to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering
Wir schrauben mit Spaß, damit Sie sich auf uns verlassen können.

(A picture of an employee in an industrial company tightening a screw - I am loathe to translate this as "we enjoy screwing". Any ideas for a slogan?)

Thanks Chetan. I agree with all the others. A clever solution.
GT-Translations Dec 11, 2006:
This is a pretty funny slogan in German too. "You can depend on us because we have fun in our work/ we work for fun."

neutral DC Josephs : dunno... sorta resonates w/ Henry James' "The Turn of the Screw" - not a happy story

Thanks
agree Jack Becconsall : Yes, but we don't quite have the "Spaß". What about a compromise? "This is what we enjoy doing ..." leaving it to the reader.

So am I!
agree Paul Cohen : Extremely clever, Chetan! Forget the "Spaß", Jack. The playful use of language goes a long way toward conveying the idea of "fun".

to screw

I understand your difficulty, but it occurs to me that the advertisers might actually have intended a double meaning to make their point (even though my dictionary gives no hint of that). A tricky problem! A safe policy might be to change the metaphor slightly to something like tightening a bolt, but if my first guess were correct the client would be disappointed.
