Medical - Medical (general) / Blood Gas Analysis
German term or phrase: PSBic
In a German medical report, for a patient with unexplained dyspnea (probably from allergy), there is a paragraph for Blood Gas Analysis with the normal parameters I am used to (pCO2, etc.), plus two parameters I have not seen before. One is:

PSBic: 23.0 mmol/l

I have done google searches but cannot find this, can anyone help me with an answer?

Thanks,

Stephen

SBC (standard (plasma) bicarbonate)
Explanation:
(Plasma-)Standardbicarbonat (?)

Again, not sure.

Agree with Liz that "bic" stands for "Bicarbonat". And I think the "plasma" could be omitted (if the "P" does not mean sth. else).

SBC (Standard bicarbonate): measure of plasma bicarbonate ...

Als Standardbicarbonat bezeichnet man die Plasma-
Bicarbonat-Konzentration in einer Blutprobe, die nach vollständiger Oxygenierung bei
37°C mit einem pCO2 von 40 mmHg äquilibriert wurde.
