Medical - Medical (general) / Orthopedics, spinal surgery
German term or phrase: Anschlussfusion
In a German report, patient with several cervical spine operations, in the medical history the following is mentioned:

"Z.n. Anschlussfusion bis Th1 mit Massa lateralis-Schrauben C6 und Pedikelschrauben C6/Th1 nach Laminektomie C5 bei hier noch bestehender Enge [Datum] in domo."

What is the English for "Anschlussfusion"? Does it just mean "subsequent fusion", thus a follow-up surgery because the others were not effective enough? Or does it mean a specific type of spinal fusion surgery?

I have googled the term on German google and find a few occurences but cannot download the documents (maybe my computer/modem problem) so I cannot even read the German explanation. I hope someone else can help me on this.

Spinal fusion, also called spondylodesis or spondylosyndesis, is a neurosurgical or orthopedic surgical technique that joins two or more vertebrae. This procedure can be performed at any level in the spine (cervical, thoracic, or lumbar) and prevents any movement between the fused vertebrae. There are many types of spinal fusion and each technique involves using bone grafting - either from the patient (autograft), donor (allograft), or artificial bone substitutes - to help the bones heal together.[1] Additional hardware (screws, plates, or cages) is often used to hold the bones in place while the graft fuses the two vertebrae together
