It's best to double check Explanation: 1) is a quote from Lenin which means "trust is a good thing, but it is better to check"; 2) is something similar as the English "necessity is the mother of invention" but says "doubt is the father of all (original) thought", I don't know of an English equivalent proverb; 3) is indeed "fool's luck": it says that the dummest farmers harvest the largest potatoes, so it's all down to luck, not skill. |
