mount or mounting Explanation: Assuming this is an attachment for something else (such as a jewelstone), mount is commonly used, but mounting is an option. BTW, why not used vermilion instead of vermeil? Chambers dictionary does have an entry for vermeil, but I doubt that anyone except a specialist would know what it means. |

fastener ? Explanation: Might fastener work in your context? Or possibly clasp? Just a thought. If you have a picture, you might be able to determine if those suggestions would work. Mount or mounting sounds so technical to me, and Meissen wares are generally quite delicate. BTW, I would be careful about using vermillion as was suggested. Unless I'm way off base, vermillion is red, whereas vermeil refers to gilded silver. That's a difference. |
