"Seilschaft am Northeast Buttress, Higher Cathedral Rock." This is a photo caption in a book about climbing. The photo depicts a giant rock with a two tiny climbers barely seen on its surface.

In this context, 'a rope party' is a reasonable general translation, but here I would personally be inclined to just say 'a pair of climbers on...'. Note also that in this particular case, 'mountain climbers' is not correct; these are 'rock climbers' (I used to do rock climbing when I was in university).
