(an explanation) Explanation: (I haven't had coffee yet and I am not a native speaker, so I hope this is somewhat comprehensible) "Einspiegelung" describes how the motive is positioned in its box/frame. Which parts will be cropped to achieve the perfect composition. "Anschnitt" in this case doesn't mean "bleed" but "cropping". "Format" of course refers to landscape, portrait or square format. Here is their problem: They obviously have to use one photo/motive in two different formats due to the two different ad sizes, which is tricky and for which they have to find a "Lösung". (If the budget allows, motives for print ads usually are shot in both formats, landscape as well as portrait, to avoid such design problems). "Lösung": They obviously have to solve the problem of how to use the same photo for two different formats -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2006-11-29 17:19:35 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I am not aware of a specific technical term. When I came to the US, everything was already "computerized" and such nice "old school" designer lingo has become extinct. |
