wrapped with stretch tape in a multiple X pattern

is as succint as I can get. I think what's meant is the use of a cross design to secure the pallets, not ventilated wrapping. I can't find a noun for the actual pattern or wrapping technique.

neutral casper (X) : '...not ventilated wrapping" ? But then the source text says: "...damit die Ware 'atmen' kann" // Oh, ok, I get your point now. Thanks for clarifying.

Well the idea is is that there is space between the criss-sross wrapping. The pallets aren't completley sealed in by the wrapping, whether it's permeated, ventilated or whatever kind.

half open plastic foil wrapping

it seems to me they do not completely cover everything with the plastic foil, but leave openings so that is why I am proposing the "half open" addition.
