German term or phrase: Achsmaß The context is plumbing and bathroom fittings, with just three uninformative items in a list relating to a tap (faucet) and the basin it is attached to: Achsmass Armatur Abwasser Achsmass zu Laengsseite Abwasser Achsmass zu Stirnseite Thanks in advance for any help.

English translation:center AE (centre BE) line Explanation:I cannot prove this but I believe "Achsmass" or "Achsmaß" may refer to a measurement from the center of a hole to somewhere else. In your text: 1) centre line tap to centre line drain 2) center line to side 3) centre line to front. Normally there is a symbol for this that looks like a "C" with an "L" hanging through the bottom of the "C" but I have also seen "C.L.".

probably the distance between the bolts for mounting the basin etc.

Explanation:
Just a suggestion, Achsmass probably has the same meaning as entraxe in French? i.e. distance between two axes.
Or could it be the coordinate(s) of the main basin (or tap) axis relative to some origin (floor??)or some direction (longitudinal, frontal)?
