German term

Lasten

German to English Tech/Engineering Lftungstechnik
Hallo,

Patricia

pollution

This is what your production system actually does: it introduces harmful effects into the environment. The simplest English term for that is pollution.

You can have dust pollution, thermal pollution, etc etc.

Anyway, that's how I always translate Lasten in this context.

burden

Perhaps burden would be suitable here.

Yes, load is OK here.

I believe "load" is OK here. "Kühllast" is "cooling load", according to the Laixicon dictionary. And a load can be a demand on a machine or system. It can be an abstract as well as concrete noun.

As an alternative, "burden" might also work. But "loads" should be fine.

residuals

It appears to me that these "burdens" are leftovers from previous production procedures. I think you can translate in this vein: cooling residuals; heat (or thermal) residuals, etc.

You can also put the \"residual\" in from, e.g., residual dust or residual heat.
