The dictionary says "raw coal", but I've never heard of anything like that before. "Unprocessed coal" also sounds kind of clumsy. Any suggestions?

Explanation:
Ernst gives rough or unscreened coal, raw coal, run of mine [or mill] coal, unwashed coal (sized or not). And since I'm into the Bundessprachenamt today, they, too, give raw coal. That should give you enough choices...
