listening or monitoring
Explanation:
Ferretti, WB der Elektronik, Datentechnik & Telekommunikation lists
"monitoring" and "radio monitoring". Also "eavesdrop" (listening secretly), "tap", "bug".

Ernst lists the following:
Abhörbarkeit f (Fernm) / listening possibility
Abhörbox, Mischkabine f (Film, Radio) / control o. listening box o. booth
Abhörbox (fahrbar) (Film) / travelling box
Abhöreinrichtung, Mithöreinrichtung f (Fernm) / monitor
Abhörempfang m, Abhören n (Telegraph) / aural reception
abhören, mithören (Elektronik, Fernm, TV) / listen, monitor
Abhören n (Tonaufzeichn) / playback
Abhören, Mithören n (Fernm) / monitoring
Abhören n (Diktiergerät) / review control
[unbefugtes] Abhören (Fernm) / wire tapping
Gespräche abhören, Leitung ''anzapfen'' (Fernm) / tap
Abhörer, Horcher m (Fernm) / snoop[er]
Abhörgerät n (Elektronik) / check o. monitoring receiver

I would use "listening" or "monitoring" unless it's very clear from your context that this is a wire tap, i.e. clandestine listening, and the examples you quote don't necessarily support that.

eavesdropping/bugging

Explanation:
Just as an alternative and this really depends on your context, ie.
Abhoervorrichtung: eavesdropping device, bugging device, surreptitious listening device (This probably would pertain more to police equipment or similar).

Good luck!
