German term or phrase: Standschaeden
One of the conditions of a car sales is that 'Die Standschäden der Fahrzeuge sind beseitigt'
English translation:Hi,
Explanation:
I havent been able to find the translation of standschaeden anywhere,
but would like to make a suggestion.

Although I am not absolutely sure whether this is applicable here, I often come accross words in German that seem to be just made up and are not (yet?) recognised terms as such.

In that sense I am thinking of 'Standlicht" - sidelight, a light on car which is on when the car is not driveng -
and maybe standschaeden is literary just describing damage which occurs to a car when standing, i.e. not being driven for a long time (as at a car sales) like breakes seizing etc....

not involved in any insurance claim (FOOD FOR THOUGHT ONLY)

Explanation:
I agree with parrot. It looks like some type of Limitation of Liability Clause.

Schäden = damages
schaden = insurance claim

beseitigt = eliminated, set aside

CAN YOU GET SOMETHING OUT OF THAT :
All vehicles undergo an indemnity check to verify that they are not subject to a Hire Purchase Agreement, have not been stolen or involved in a major insurance claim

damage resulting from nonoperation of the vehicle

Explanation:
Standschaden (as distinguished from, for instance, Unfallschaden) is damage resulting from the vehicle not being operated over a long period of time. See, for instance, the following:

...sehr wenig Rost mit Motorschaden (Standschaden) seit 1994 abgemeldet VB 1000 DM. ...
www.allrad-anzeiger.de/fahrzeuge/suzuki.html

... wolle den Wagen vielleicht sogar verkaufen da er sowieso keine Zeit zum fahren habe ( Bremsen hinten hatten Standschaden ), gingen bei uns alle Lampen an. ...
www.kiny.de/Carrera.htm

"nonoperation" is the (fairly self-explanatory...) term used by the California DMV.
