German term

seitlichen Einlauf von unten

German to English Tech/Engineering
Text about railway electrical overhead lines, and damage caused when the lines are not correctly aligned for the pantograph (current collector). Occurs in "wenn die Fahrleitungen beim seitlichen Einlauf von unten über die Endstücken schleifen". I can visualise what is happening, but find it hard to to express this in railway English. Any suggestions?

See explanation below

first part is "beim seitleichen Einlauf"; = when running in from either side; second part is "von unten über die Endstücken schleifen"; means "slide under the end (of the pantograph)". And we all know what happens when the pantograph gets on top of the catenary wire, don't we - it rips away all the supports, and believe me, that catenary is so heavy, it's frightening....

At least, I THINK this is what they mean; best you check to make 100% sure, though.
