German term or phrase: SAP-Kompetenz
The "SAP" bit is clear, but how do you translate "Kompetenz"? Here´s the sentence: "Komplexe EDI-Lösungen, die weltweite SAP-Kompetenz von (company name), e-commerce und andere, web-basierte Technologien waren weitere Ausstellungsthemen."
AnglGerman
English translation:SAP competency
Explanation:
The Northern Lights search engine showed 314 hits in 132 sources for "SAP competency." At http://www.erp-link.com/alliances/ms.html, for example, Microsoft provides information about its SAP Competency Center. Apparently the collocation enjoys moderate usage, so I'd stick with the literal translation.

from Karl-Heinz Seidel Handwoerterbuch Technik. Also accepted in the SAP translations I have done (in the context of competency centers).

SAP knowledge base

Explanation:
The problem here is the "weltweit" which is inappropriate when paired with the repulsive "competency" (normally correct, of course) as the latter, like the possibilities "expertise" or "know-how", doesn't fit with a geographical statement. My suggest probably blurs things enough in the direction of an organizational concept for the statement not to be nonsense.
