German term or phrase: die Schuppe/geschuppt/Schuppenstrom/Schuppenzähler
All the above variations of "schuppe" are giving me trouble. A "Schuppenzähler" is a device which counts objects, such as magazines, using laser light, sensors and triangulation methods. I think "Schuppe" refers to the pile of objects and "Schuppenstrom" is them being fed into the system on a conveyor. Any ideas on a translation?

English translation:layer, layered, layer transport, layer counter
Explanation:
All my searches came up with only the scale concept and the simple housing (shed, etc.) concept for Schuppe. Magazines are objects that layer, like scales. Schuppenstrom could be simply input, output, conveyance belt, etc. depending on the context.

Is this what you're looking for? Maybe this fits, if you consider that scale can mean Staffel, as well.
