German term or phrase: Takt
The context is induction hardening of automotive parts; the line consists of a 6-station indexing table machine, 2 individual inductors (two tracks), a HF generator, and a loading/unloading unit.

"Die Wiederholgenauigkeit der Schaltteller-Takte muss so genau sein dass das Härtebild nicht verändert wird."

I am having trouble figuring out exactly what is meant by Takte in this specific instance. One suggested translation for Takt is "stroke." However, it seems more like they are saying the repeat accuracy of the index table
SEQUENCING must be so accurate that the hardness pattern doesn't change.

Can anyone confirm,correct, or fine-tune?

sequence time/ cycle time/ timing
Explanation:
You are 100% right : what is important is that the HF exposure TIME is accurately reproducible.

In production/manufacturing environement "Takt" means a "machine cycle" or a "part of a machine cycle".

The reproducibility can concern mechanical or electrical or time parameters. Here the timing aspect is certainly the most important (just like for your microwave oven : the position and the rotation speed of the plate does not matter to much. The power and the time are the key parameters.
