German term or phrase: Formbesatz
This is from a clothes' manufacturer's description of their new autumn/winter range:

"Verschiedene Tops und eine schlichte Hose in edler Kombination aus Seide mit Formbesatz."

There is no further context/information, and I can't even picture what this is supposed to be!

TIA for any help...

Shaped facing
Explanation:
"A shaped facing is a separate piece of fabric cut from a pattern to the same shape and on the same grain as the garment edge it will finish."

A bit technical, a term from tailoring/dressmaking - maybe fashion designers call it something prettier when selling their creations

Here's a useful glossary/dictionary - if you like sewing :-)

Often translated as edging, trim or for instance, when the "Besatz" is "Rüschen, Stickerei or Spitze " ,simply frills, embroidery or lace and the appropriate location on the garment. e.g a filly collar, a lace cuff and similar.
