I'm not an expert either, but I don't think non-bias is used here.
Probably it is just called binding or straight binding to differentiate from bias binding.

I always use bias binding (this won't work with straight binding).

WEe called this stuff bias tape in school, and I also found a few hits for straight tape / bias tape.
