Sur ce site, ce type de maison est décrit ainsi : "La Haute Lusace (Oberlausitz) entre Bautzen et Zittau compte de nombreux beaux villages avec des maisons à pans de bois, mais aucun n’arrive à la cheville d’Obercunnersdorf. Il abrite des maisons à colombages d’un type très particulier, les Umgebindehäuser. >>> <<< Dans cette région on a associé la cabane en rondins slave et la maison à colombages germanique sans jamais les fusionner."
