Schneidkanten sind an den Profilscheiben in der Profilwalze. Sie schneiden die Kiemen in der Wellrippe auf. Schneidkanten können bei unsachgemäßem Handhaben der Walze beschädigt werden, oder wenn ohne Schmierung gewalzt wird. Sind die Schneidkanten durch normalen Verschleiß stumpf oder ausgebrochen, muss die Walze nachgeschliffen werden.
