Si parla di componenti in acciaio rivestite in altri materiali. Il concetto è chiaro (il termine è addirittura definito nel suo significato), ma non trovo un equivalente convincente:

**Auffedern* bedeutet, dass das Außenmaß (Breitenmaß) einer Lagerhälfte nach dem Bruchtrennen größer ist als vor dem Bruchtrennen.

Ein **Auffedern** entsteht, wenn im oberflächennahen Bohrungsbereich z. B. eine martensitische Gefügeumwandlung vorliegt (Volumenzunahme durch Martensitbildung).
