Schütz è generalmente "protezione" (vedi anche Eurodicautom). Può indicare anche i relè, che si traducono però anche on i termini più specifici Relais o Schütz relais.
Nel contesto secondo me tradurre con relè è azzardato, anche perchè si sarebbe dovuto specificare il tipo di relè, ovvero quelli a stato solido (SSR), che possiedono effettivamente una sezione di pilotaggio elettronico in ingresso. I più tradizionali relè elettromeccanici (EMR) sono costituiti da una bobina di eccitazione e da uno o più commutatori (elettromeccanici)azionati dalla corrente.
Se l testo si riferisce proprio ai relè è un conto, altrimenti io suggerirei di rimanere sul generale.
