Explanation:
Achei num dicionário técnico (de papel, infelizmente) Lenkstock como coluna da direção e Unterschall como ultra-sônico, mas mais que isso não posso dizer. Infelizmente. Talvez estas idéias a conduzam à tradução final.

Vendo a nota da colega tradutora, achei oberschalig (alto) no mesmo dicionário com o significado de de prato no alto. Talvez a ajude um pouquinho mais.
