German to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Accounting / US GAAP / financial accounting
German term or phrase:Bruttokontenmethode
I can't even find this term on the Web! Has anyone heard of this and know it should be translated?
Here's the context:
Aufgrund der für US-GAAP erforderlichen Sachverhaltsinformationen werden abweichend zu den sonstigen Rechnungslegungsvorschriften die US-GAAP-Vollwerte nicht nach der sonst vorherrschenden Bruttokontenmethode (= ein separates Konto je Rechnungslegungsvorschrift bei Sachverhalten mit Bewertungsunterschieden), sondern aus der Kombination von IAS-Konto und reinem US-GAAP-Deltakonto gebildet.
Niamh: I have a sneaking suspicion that this term is a "Marke Eigenbau", so I think you'd be perfectly justified to write 'gross account method' in inverted commas.

the gross method
Explanation: "If the taxpayer used the net method for such property on federal tax returns for two or more consecutive taxable years, a switch to the gross method is a change in method of accounting and the taxpayer must file a Form 3115 for the current year."
