German to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Accounting / US GAAP / financial accounting
German term or phrase: Bruttokontenmethode
I can't even find this term on the Web! Has anyone heard of this and know it should be translated?

Here's the context:

Aufgrund der für US-GAAP erforderlichen Sachverhaltsinformationen werden abweichend zu den sonstigen Rechnungslegungsvorschriften die US-GAAP-Vollwerte nicht nach der sonst vorherrschenden Bruttokontenmethode (= ein separates Konto je Rechnungslegungsvorschrift bei Sachverhalten mit Bewertungsunterschieden), sondern aus der Kombination von IAS-Konto und reinem US-GAAP-Deltakonto gebildet.

the gross method

"If the taxpayer used the net method for such property on federal tax returns for two or more consecutive taxable years, a switch to the gross method is a change in method of accounting and the taxpayer must file a Form 3115 for the current year."

neutral  RobinB: This is an entirely different context, I think. The "gross method" itself is an established concept in financial and tax accounting, but Niamh's context is evidently about IFRS reconciliations, talking about a single account per standard. Weird...
