Das uebrige Finanzergebnis der XXX (company name) resultiert aus dem Ansteig der Zinsertraege auf XX Mio Euro und aus dem niedrigeren Buchwert der eigenen Aktien, auf den eine Abschreibung in Hoehe von XX Mio. Euro (Vorjahr: Zuschreibung von 0.1 Mio Euro) erfolgte.

How do I translate 'Abschreibung' in this context? I would usually use 'depriciation' but I am unsure if that works here (does the book value of the shares depriciate?)
