Female Fig Leaf Explanation: Here's an official confirmation: I'm afraid to say that we, as a not-for-profit website do not advise on artworks by Marcel Duchamp - unlike a lot of other (gallery-affiliated) scholars in the field. This said, I can tell you that at a Marcel Duchamp auction by Sotheby's London on December 7th, 1999 (sale 9107/lot 42), one example of the 1961 edition of the "Female Fig Leaf" (besides the originals, there are two FFL editions of ten, one of 1951 [casts painted brown] and another of 1961 [casts in bronze]) sold for BP 89.500 (ca. $145.000 at the time). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2002-01-15 03:25:43 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- http://www.marcelduchamp.net/wwwboard/messages/22.html |
