In dieser Redewendung "Zeitzeugen einer Ära" enthaelt sich eine Tautologie – die Zeit ist in der Tat zweimal erwaehnt. Die Uebersetzung "illustrations of the epoch (era)" ueberdeckt meiner Meinung nach den Inhalt.
