Explanation:
Border to me always has the connotation of "Grenze" which does not seem to fit in this context. If the "Gitter" also serves as an entryway of some sort, then I suggest "fenced gate". Otherwise, "fenced barrier" may be a better choice.

I think this is what might be meant by this. A chainlink fence is made of heavy metal wire linked together and forming a "grille" pattern.
