German to English translations [PRO]
Art/Literary
German term or phrase: Zugwerk
... actually written as "Zugwerck" in my 18th century text: "... und andere nützlichen Geschirrsorten... welche teils mit ZUG- und LaubWERK künstlich geschnitten, theil auch wegen ihrer ungemeinen Härte als ein Jaspis, sowohl goderonieret oder glatt poliret..." I haven't been ableto come up with anything more specific than "ornaments" so far, can anyone help?

English translation:fretwork
Explanation:
This is just instinctive - fretwork = decorate with an interlaced pattern (OED). Also 'trellis'
